She was afraid of her attacker, who had continued to threaten her. She just wanted to walk away from everything. Judge Jack saw the concern on my face and had already read the facts in the petition. She picked up the petition and read each word slowly and deliberately. She then looked at my client and asked if it was all true. When my client sadly said yes, Judge Jack stopped the hearing and told her to go out into the hall to talk to her attorney, me. My client sobbed, telling me she was afraid.
