Meet Judge Liz

Judge Liz Jack has brought five years of proven judicial experience to the Sixth Circuit since January 2021.  Currently assigned to family law, she knows that fairness does not mean every person agrees with an outcome; it means every person is heard, the law is followed, the facts are weighed, and decisions are made without bias, politics, pressure, or ego.

The courtroom requires more than legal knowledge.  It requires tested judgment.  Before taking the bench, Judge Jack spent twelve years as an Assistant State Attorney in Pinellas and Hillsborough Counties, prosecuting a wide range of cases and gaining substantial trial experience.  Her foundation in public service also includes supporting families with young children in the dependency system through USF St. Petersburg, and serving as a federal law clerk in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

A graduate of the University of Chicago Law School and Boston College, Judge Jack is a thoughtfully prepared, independent, and even-handed jurist. Outside the courtroom, she is dedicated to her family, staying active outdoors, and mentoring young attorneys.
